The elders of Grace Christian Church desire to live out, with the help of the Godhead, several portions of Scripture that pertain to our ministry. Here are a few passages that inform our desires and prayers:

"you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength [resources]. The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself' (Mark 12:30-31)

. . . shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock (1 Pet 5:2-3)

. . . we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children. Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us . . . just as you know how we were exhorting and encouraging and imploring each one of you as a father would his own children, so that you would walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory (1 Thess. 2:7-8, 11-12)

. . . For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel" ( 1 Cor 4:15).
